Evaluation Question 7

Answered in directors chair.

Evaluation Question 6

With out technologies, we would not have been able to complete this task. A vital use of technology was editing on the macbook pro which our school provided. This allowed us to create the opening sequence we have created. On the macbook pro, we could create our sound along with edit together our opening squence and so made it efficient for use.

Evaluation Question 5

From our target audience we found that they were interested in films like:
  • Batman the Dark Knight
  • Inception
  • L.A.Confidential
  • Sin City
These are all thrillers and so we decided to make our film a sort of thriller. It is a psychological thriller. This hopefully attracts those who like thrillers. Our target audience will be attracted by the mystery in our film which is contained in all the films above.
Although our film is aimed at males, the use of male protagonist could increase our female audience.

Evaluation Question 4

As said in my directors chair, we are mainly aiming our film for males between 15-30. The main portion of those who come to watch our film will probably have had some sort of loss in family and friendship and so will be able to connect with our protagonist. Our film is mainly aimed at middle to lower class people as it is a low budget film which contains public landmarks which won't attract a higher class of people.

From our audience reasearch survey we found that males and females around this age generally liked films like:
  • Batman the Dark Knight
  • Inception
  • L.A.Confidential
  • Sin City
These films relate with our film genre of thriller and so we have based our opening sequence from on a genre based on the target audiences response.

Evaluation Question 3

Other ways in which we could get media institutes to distribute our product is by putting our product in a film festival. This will not only tell us if our product is good but who will also want to distribute our product. Only way for a real distributor is if we had a big production company already producing us like 20th century fox. 20th century fox is owned by News Cooperation which is a very big production company which has many different labels in different areas. This allows films made by 20th century fox to have a sort of security when making the film as it knows the film will have a distributor right away due to the companys vertical intergration in the film industry. This is not similar for films like 'Shifty'. Shifty is a low budget british film produced by BBC Films. When this film was made, they didn't have the security a film by 20th century fox would have like 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes'. This film would have had a bigger finacial backing and the film would have already had a distributor. Shifty would have had to showcase their film before getting any sort of distribution company apart from BBC behind them.
